No, although we do hail from the same town, and we do look somewhat similar.
What does ‘Sakuzaku’ mean? Is it Japanese?
‘Sakuzaku’ does indeed sound just like an onomatopoeic Japanese word. But it isn’t actually a real word — we just made it up. However, the Japanese friends we’ve asked say it sounds to them like the sound of boots crunching on frost, eating potato chips, or a shovel digging soil, among other things. And we’ve also been told that it generally ‘sounds like progress,’ which can only be a good thing!
