We’re looking for graphic designers to help us grow our world-class web applications development firm here in Honolulu. We would like to meet graphic designers who can help us create elegant, effective, and eminently usable web applications. We’ve got a few web applications of our own that are poised to become overnight successes. Want to put that on your résumé? Drop us a line.
We want someone who knows what Identity 2.0, SNS’s, and microformats are. Someone who knows the names Khoi Vinh and Anil Dash and Tantek Çelik and Coudal and Shaun Inman, among others. We want to meet the person who should be in San Francisco but for whatever reason is here instead, like us. We want someone who’s read ‘Getting Real’ by 37signals, ‘The Design of Everyday Things’ by Donald Norman, and ‘The Elements of Typographic Style’ by Robert Bringhurst. And most importantly, we want to meet people who want to meet people like us. If this is you, we want to talk to you!
We’re looking for someone we get along with and work well with and to who we can say ‘I don’t like this’ and ‘why’d you do this?’ and ‘can you change this?’ without hurting their feelings. You will be working closely with our small team of developers to provide clients with solutions to their problems.
We only deal with people who work on Macs (if you’re not serious about your tools, you’re not serious about your job). You should really know what a version control system is and be using one, but we’re more forgiving about that. We are very open to anyone who has a minimum of experience but a maximum of talent, so please show us what you’ve got even if you don’t have any credentials. You just have to be really good, because we are too. We will only work together if we find the right person, not because we settle for the best of those who apply.
If you think all this is you, please send a résumé and portfolio of design work to jobs@we are sakuzaku.com. Also, kindly explain briefly what we can do for you and what you think you can do for us. We’ll reply to everyone, except those who don’t bother to provide a portfolio or have obvious spelling and grammar mistakes in their résumés. Thanks!
We are also very open to bartering services with a great design firm that wants to team up. We need to get stuff done and aren’t designers. You’ll need to get stuff done and aren’t programmers. You’ll give us amazing designs for our collateral and web projects, we’ll give you all the programming you need for yours. Someone who will put a lot of time and effort into making us the best — and we’ll do the same for you.
